Personal Training FAQ

Before you decide to work with a Personal Trainer, you may have some questions about how the process works. It’s a good idea to get all your questions answered so you can see whether or not personal training is for you. At the same time, you need to work out whether I am the best Personal Trainer for your individual set of circumstances. I train everyone, from first-time exercisers to semi-professional athletes. My clients range in age from 18-70 and I can incorporate a wide range of exercise techniques and styles into your programmes. Here are my answers to some of the questions clients ask me.

Why should I work with a Personal Trainer?

Ideas, accountability, company, encouragement, someone to keep a trained eye on your technique…these are just some of the reasons! Some of my clients are new to fitness and need to know where to start and how to keep going. Others are more experienced, but want to be sure they are training in the most efficient way. Some might be training for a particular event or competition, whilst others want to get back in shape after surgery, injury or having a baby. The only way to be sure you are training in the right way for you is to work with a professional. I will assess your goals, your starting point and your circumstances before guiding you through a bespoke training, eating and recovery plan. Together, we will hit your goals, whatever they are.

What’s special about Mack and Reboot Personal Training?

There are plenty of Personal Trainers in London, I know that. But not all of them will come to you, wherever you are, bringing with them a van full of the latest fitness and resistance equipment. Not all of them run bootcamp-style group classes outside. And none of them are quite like me! I’ll let my clients do the talking: they say I’m knowledgeable, enthusiastic, motivating. They tell me I’ve helped them meet their goals. I help them change their body shape, lose fat, get fitter, leaner and faster. Isn’t that what you want, too? I’ve had coaches and trainers in the past. What can you teach me that I don’t already know?

I have extensive experience in advanced training methods, including HIIT, weight-training, boxing and MMA. Tell me what your goal is (or perhaps we can come up with one together) and let me know about your fitness background. I’ll suggest a fresh, new, challenging training plan which will jolt you out of any plateau and show you there’s always further to go!

How often will I need to train with you?

That’s up to you. I recommend at least once a week, so you can measure your progress and stay accountable to me. We can discuss that when we first speak, but I’ll never make you train more than your lifestyle allows. I understand that everyone is busy and, ultimately, I want your fitness programme to be enjoyable and sustainable.

I’m busy and I don’t have a gym membership. Where will we train?

I come to you, in my van which is full of the latest and best cardio and weights equipment. So we can train in your house, garden or local park. If you are a member of a gym, I can accompany you there, but it’s not necessary. I’ll show you how you can get a really effective workout at home.

I want to tackle my food habits as well as exercise, can you help with that?

Yes, I can. I am trained in advanced techniques to measure body composition and the effects of hormones on the body. I have years of experience in guiding clients through nutrition programmes which help them drop body fat, build lean muscle, boost immunity and stay strong. There are no products or gimmicks. It’s all sensible eating that really gets results.

Do I need to train with you forever? How does the process end?

You can if you want to! But there’s no need. My hope is that, once you’ve been working with me for a while, you will have the knowledge and enthusiasm to go it alone. You can always come back to me in the future if you fancy a new challenge. The process can be as long as you want it to be. You’re the client, after all
